Non-Surgical Lower Eyelid Lift
Developed by Dr. Born and his Wife Dr. Lisa Airan, this hallmark procedure corrects the hollowing which causes the dark circles below the eyes and close to the nose to occur with aging. The hollows can be corrected with Injectable fillers; however the colour of the skin will persist in being dark due to its thinness, pigment and the superficial blood vessels visible beneath.
The area of the hollow is marked and frozen with a local anaesthetic. Restylane is then carefully injected next to the bone to correct the hollow and avoid complications, visibly correcting the area instantly. Often, Dr. Born will correct the injections performed by other Medical Doctors and Nurses, because the Restylane is placed in the wrong area or the hollow is not completely corrected. The contour is made to appear natural. Patients may choose to have Cheek Augmentation at the same time as their Non-Surgical Lower Eyelid Lift, so care is taken not to overfill the cheek and give it a Cherub-like appearance, but rather provide a ‘natural’ shape and a more favourable result.
Not all patients are candidates for this procedure and may better benefit from having a formal Eyelid Surgery.
Procedure length
The length of the procedure can range between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the number of areas treated. The procedure is done in the office and patients favour our technique over a superficial injection technique because irregularity is very uncommon and the recovery is faster.
Recovery
As very small needles are used, there is only minimal discomfort and no down-time. There may be swelling for 3 to 5 days and bruising up to 10 days.
The Result
The Non-Surgical Lower Eyelid Lift gives the patient a rested appearance with results and as if they have had an eyelid surgery, without the downtime or risks of surgery. The results last for eight months to a year and a half.
